Why choose copper core cables, what are the advantages of copper core cables?
The aluminum core cable is a cable with aluminum as the conductor and an insulating material on the outside. It is mainly used in public buildings and residential buildings, where humidity corrodes aluminum. Copper core wire is a wire and cable with copper core as the conductor and outer insulation material. It is a very good conductive material and is currently the most frequently used wire in home decoration and other environments. At present, there is a large demand for copper in the project design and use of wires and cables, and because the aluminum core cable is prone to breakage during installation, the contact resistance of the connection with the copper conductor is too large, and the aluminum material is more creepy. performance, the reliability of the connection is poor. Therefore, copper wires and cables are more widely used than aluminum core cables.
Advantages of copper core cables:
1. Low resistivity: the resistivity of aluminum core cables is about 1.68 times higher than that of copper core cables.
2. Good ductility: the ductility of copper alloy is 20~40%, the ductility of electrical copper is above 30%, while that of aluminum alloy is only 18%.
3. High strength: the allowable stress at room temperature is 7-28% higher for copper than for aluminum. The difference between the two is more obvious under the stress condition of high temperature.
4. Anti-fatigue: The softness of copper material is good, and it is not easy to break after repeated bending, while the wire products of aluminum products are easy to crack after repeated bending. In terms of elastic index, copper is also about 1.7~1.8 times higher than aluminum.
5. Good stability and corrosion resistance: the copper core is anti-oxidation and corrosion-resistant, while the aluminum core is easily oxidized and corroded.
6. Large carrying capacity: Because of the low resistivity, the copper core cable with the same cross-section is about 30% higher than the allowed carrying capacity (the maximum current that can pass) of the aluminum core cable.
7. Low voltage loss: Because the resistivity of the copper core cable is low, the same current flows through the same section. The voltage loss of the copper core cable is small. The same power transmission interval can ensure higher voltage quality; under the same voltage drop condition, copper core cable power transmission can reach a longer distance, that is, the power supply coverage area is large, which is conducive to network planning and reduces the number of power supply points. .
8. Low heat generation temperature: Under the same current, the heat generation of copper core cables with the same cross section is much smaller than that of aluminum core cables, making the operation safer.
9. Low energy consumption: Because of the low resistivity of copper, compared with aluminum cables, copper cables have lower power loss, which can not only improve the utilization rate of power generation but also protect the environment to a certain extent.
10. Anti-oxidation and corrosion resistance: The connector of the copper core cable is stable and will not cause circuit failure due to oxidation. When the joint of the aluminum core cable is unstable, it will often cause failure due to oxidation, which will increase the touch resistance and generate heat. The safety performance of copper core cables is higher than that of aluminum cables.
As far as the comparison between copper wire and aluminum wire is concerned, copper wire is more flexible than aluminum wire! At the same time, copper wire has low resistivity and good ductility. The allowable stress at room temperature is 7~28% higher than that of aluminum. Especially the stress at high temperature, the difference between the two is even greater, and the copper wire is oxidation-resistant and corrosion-resistant, while the aluminum wire is easy to be oxidized and corroded. In this case, the voltage drop of the copper wire cable is small. Therefore, the same power transmission distance can guarantee higher voltage quality.
