What is the difference between BYJ wire and BV wire?

As a relatively common environmentally friendly cable, BYJ has many characteristics and advantages, such as high flame retardancy, low smoke, anti-aging and other excellent characteristics, so BYJ is also widely used in engineering construction and residential decoration . So, about BYJ is it a wire or a cable? And what is the difference between BYJ and BV?

What is BYJ wire?

1. The full name of BYJ is cross-linked polyethylene insulated wire. It can produce fire-resistant, flame-retardant, low-smoke and halogen-free wires according to customer requirements.
It is a kind of home improvement cloth wire with a temperature resistance of 105 degrees. BYJ wire is composed of one or several soft wires, covered with a sheath made of light and soft cross-linked polyethylene material, and has low smoke and flame retardant characteristics, so it is also called environmentally friendly wire.
The cable is composed of one or several insulated wires, and the outside is covered with a tough outer layer made of metal or rubber. BYJ is a single-core wire with only one core and one layer of insulation. BYJ stands for cross-linked polyethylene insulated wire, which belongs to electric wire. Generally, BYJ wires will not produce a lot of smoke when burned, and they are resistant to aging and ultraviolet rays. Widely used in high-rise buildings, stations, airports, hospitals and other crowded places.
2. It is suitable for fixed wiring with a rated voltage of 450/750V and a heat resistance of 105°C, as well as copper conductors and cross-linked polyolefin insulated cables for internal connections of electric power and electronic equipment.

What is a BV wire?

BV is commonly referred to as hard wire, mainly used for power supply, lighting, socket, air conditioner, suitable for cables and wires for AC voltage 450/750V and below power devices, household appliances, instruments and telecommunication equipment. The hard line has a certain hardness, and it will be more convenient in bending and straightening.

The difference between BYJ and BV wires is as follows
1. Different functions: BYJ wire is non-toxic, flame retardant, long service life and high temperature resistant; it adopts irradiation cross-linking process to achieve flame retardant effect; it can be used for more than 100 years and can withstand high temperature of 150 degrees Celsius.
2. Different insulating materials: BYJ is a copper core XLPE insulated wire; BV is a copper core PVC insulated wire.
3. Different performance: BYJ wire has higher fire performance than BV wire; BYJ wire has lower toxicity than BV wire.
4. Different prices: The price of BV wire is relatively lower than that of BYJ wire.

How to choose BYJ line and BV line?
The insulation of these two wires is the same, the difference is that the wire core is hard and soft (R), under the same square number, the current carrying capacity of the soft wire is slightly larger; in terms of construction, the hard wire is easy to construct, and the soft wire is easy to bend , But it is not easy to fix, too much bending will damage the life of the wire, so the home improvement concealed wire generally uses a hard wire, that is, a BV wire, and some temporary wires and external wires are generally selected as soft wires, which are BVR.
