    Application

    THHN/THWN Copper Conductors are primarily used in conduit for services, feeder and branch circuits in commercial or industrial applications as specified in the National Electrical Code. When used as type THHN, conductor is suitable for use in dry locations at temperatures not to exceed  90°C. When used as type THWN, conductor is suitable for use in wet or dry locations at temperatures not to exceed  90°C dry locations or 75°C wet locations or not to exceed  75°C when exposed to oil or coolant. Conductor temperatures not to exceed 105°C in dry locations when rated AWN and used as appliance wiring material. Voltage rating foe all applications is 600 volts.Some common applications of THHN THWN Copper Conductor include:

    Appliances:

    THHN/THWN copper conductor used in a wide range of household appliances, such as refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, and other electrical devices.

    Aerospace Systems:

    Nylon sheathed wires and cables (THHN/THWN copper conductor) have good heat resistance, and have the characteristics of small weight loss at high temperatures, which can improve the instantaneous thermal overload resistance of wires, and are used for line connections and lighting in aerospace systems.

    Architecture and Lighting:

    THHN/THWN copper conductor is widely used for electrical wiring in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. It is used for power distribution, lighting, switches, outlets, and other electrical installations within buildings.

    Construction

    • 1.Conductor is bare annealed copper per ASTM B-3.
    • 2.Stranded conductors per ASTM B-8 or B-787. CCA conductor(copper clad aluminum)can be customized.
    • 3.Insulation is coloe coded premium grade flame retardant PVC (polyvinyl chloride).
    • 4.Jacket is tough polyamide nylon, it is provided to protect PVC insulation against abrasions and scratches while pulling through conduits. It is also resistant to oil, gasoline and chemicals.

    (1)THHN: It indicates a single or stranded conductor having falme-retardant and heat-resistant thermoplastic insulation with a jacket of extruded nylon or equivalent material. The wire is rated 90°C dry only.

    (2)THWN:It indicates a single or stranded conductor having falme-retardant, moisture and heat resistant thermoplastic insulation with a jacket of extruded nylon or equivalent material. The wire is rated 75°C wet or dry.
